ZCD Architects took the lead as delivery architects for an exciting project in collaboration with Wandsworth Council at Penwortham School—a remarkable design and built project for a year six classroom block.
Teaming up with H.A. Marks, whom with we have a long and successful relationship, we played a key role in bringing to life a BREEAM excellent-rated scheme, within the designated timeframe and budget.
The spaces are naturally ventilated and have flexible teaching areas with a folding wall between two classrooms, allowing for assembly teaching on a regular basis.
On the exterior, the building is a prefabricated timber cassette structure clad with western red cedar in a horizontal and vertical arrangement, for classrooms and service areas respectively.
